BYRON GIN

I find my inspiration in the simple and the ordinary: a coffee cup, a coat hanger, a man walking down the street. People and things easily overlooked, yet all deserving of a second glance. While my work is representational, there is a hint of abstraction, most evident in the backgrounds of my paintings. Spare and ambiguous, they are often simple fields of color and texture, sometimes suggestive of planes and surfaces, always inviting interpretation as to mood or narrative. Resume
